“You are so far up your career’s ass, that you can’t let anyone else in!” Oh damnnn! Decal Releasing has unveiled an official trailer for a girls trip raucous comedy called Tripped Up, from producer / filmmaker Shruti Ganguly. This is getting a small theatrical and then VOD release at the end of October. It’s a comedy about friends bonding while on a trip to a food fest. Aspiring chef Lizzy sets off with her three best friends in tow to compete in the prestigious Saucy Food Festival. What begins as a calculated career move quickly turns into a madcap misadventure full of food, fun and female bonding, where the girls learn that “struggle” can be the secret ingredient. Which is literally exactly what one of the characters says to them. This stars Leah Lewis, Ashley Moore, Ariel Winter, Sasha Fox, and Vanessa Williams. Looks fun, but barely, as the rest of it looks really bad. And will they even do any cooking / eating, or will it just be them arguing?
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Shruti Ganguly’s Tripped Up, direct from Decal’s YouTube:
“Get in loser we’re going TRIPPING!” Aspiring chef Lizzy (Leah Lewis) sets off with her three best friends in tow to compete in the prestigious Saucy Food Festival. What begins as a calculated career move quickly turns into a madcap misadventure full of food, fun and female bonding, where the girls learn that struggle can be the secret ingredient to success. Tripped Up is directed by New York-based producer / filmmaker Shruti Ganguly, making her feature directorial debut after a few other short films and producing tons of other indie projects. The screenplay is written by Cristina Catanzaro and Carrie Shaw. It’s produced by Jon Carrasco, Linda Evans, Stephen Roseberry, and Nina Warren. This hasn’t premiered at any film festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Decal Releasing will debut Ganguly’s Tripped Up film in select US theaters on October 20th, 2023, then on VOD starting October 27th this fall. Anyone interested in watching this?
