“It’s the 90s, times are changing!” Peacock has revealed the main official trailer for their streaming series bringing back the lovable foul-mouthed teddy bear Ted. Created by, co-written, co-showrun, and directed by Seth MacFarlane, who made the original two movies, this Ted is a prequel set in 1993 before the events of the two movies. Everyone in 2012 probably remembers the huge buzz around the original Ted movie, which ended up making $549M worldwide at the box office that year. Now 11 years later they’re bringing him back. “[While] it takes place in the 90s but is based on the timeless truth that being sixteen sucks. The three of us were teenagers in the nineties and grew up in and around Boston, where the show takes place. So many of these stories are personal for us,” MacFarlane, Corrigan & Walsh said. The series stars Max Burkholder as John (as Mark Wahlberg’s character), Scott Grimes (Ralph Garman’s character), Alanna Ubach (Alex Borstein’s character), Seth MacFarlane back as Ted, Giorgia Whigham. Looks as raunchy as the films.
Here’s both of the official trailers for Peacock’s series Ted, direct from Peacock’s YouTube:
In this comedic TV series prequel event to the Ted movies, it’s 1993, and Ted the Bear’s (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts, with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach), and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham). Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship. Ted is a new series streaming on Peacock. Comedy filmmaker / actor Seth MacFarlane is the executive producer, writer, director, and co-showrunner of the series; which is also executive produced, written and co-showrun by Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh. With writing by Dana Gould, Jon Pollack, and Julius Sharpe. And also executive produced by Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Jason Clark, Aimee Carlson. NBC will debut this new Ted series streaming on Peacock starting January 11th, 2024 early next year. Who wants to watch?
