“You can’t hide from me – I’ll never, ever stop coming!” Vertical has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller called The Bricklayer, from the Finnish action filmmake Renny Harlin (known best for his 90s movies: Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Deep Blue Sea). This is indeed adapted from the novel “The Bricklayer” written by Noah Boyd. Aaron Eckhart stars as the elite CIA agent known as “Vail”. When a rogue insurgent blackmails the CIA by killing foreign journalists and framing the government, the agency must lure their most brilliant yet rebellious operative out of retirement to unravel the international conspiracy. With an elite and deadly skill set, Vail is tasked with helping clear the agency’s name, forcing him to confront his checkered past while grappling with the truth. The Bricklayer also stars Nina Dobrev, Clifton Collins Jr., Tim Blake Nelson, and Ilfenesh Hadera. This is a “riveting adventure through the realms of espionage and intrigue, promises to captivate audiences from start to finish.” It looks like a movie straight out of the 90s anyway. Cheesy action, generic characters… yet somehow still entertaining to watch.
