The first release under the new Paramount Scares banner has been unveiled, and it’s in the form of an intriguing 4K set.
The limited edition set contains five horror movies from Paramount, old and new, plus a batch of extra goodies to sweeten the pot.
While four of the movies in the set are already revealed, there’s a fifth mystery disc that’s going to be revealed at a later date. Paramount has a pretty stacked roster of potential suspects including A Quiet Place, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Anihaliation, Scream VI, and Friday the 13th, so it’ll probably be something more out of leftfield.
Paramount Scares 4K Set Details
The Films included in the box set (that we know about) are Rosemary’s Baby, Smile, Pet Sematary, and Crawl. Each movie comes with an exclusive slipcover.
The extra bits are a collectible Paramount Scares pin badge, a sticker sheet, and a Collector’s Edition of Fangoria magazine.
Rosemary’s Baby is directed by Roman Polanski, and stars Mia Farrow as an expectant mother living in an apartment complex that holds sinister secrets.
Smile is directed by Parker Finn, and tells the story of a strange curse that leaves its victims with a horribly twisted grin.
Pet Sematary is the 1989 version directed by Mary Lambert. Based on the Stephen King novel, a family moves to a new town and discovers a gravesite for dead animals that has supernatural power.
Finally, Crawl is directed by Alexandre Aja and sees Kaya Scodelario as a young woman caught in a storm that floods her father’s home and brings some scaly unwanted guests along.
There’s no official release date for this set just yet, but I would expect that to arrive alongside the identity of the fifth movie.
