“Andy’s like a mad dog drenched in perfume.” Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for Revolver, a Korean revenge thriller from filmmaker Seung-uk Oh, also the director of the films Kilimanjaro and The Shameless previously. It’s now set for a US release later this month if anyone’s curious to see how this story plays out. Su-young, a police detective who went to prison for someone else, is surprised when a mysterious woman named Yoon-sun arrives to collect her on her day of release. She quickly discovers that the promised compensation for her time behind bars has since vanished, so Su-young embarks upon a mission to reclaim what rightfully belongs to her. Uncovering a far more dangerous, powerful force behind the scheme. This stars Jeon Do-yeon (from Emergency Declaration and Kill Boksoon) as Ha Soo-young, Ji Chang-wook as Andy, and Lim Ji-yeon as Jeong Yoon-sun. There’s nothing like a slick Korean revenge thriller to enjoy.
Here’s the new official US trailer (+ poster) for Seung-uk Oh’s film Revolver, direct from YouTube:
Police officer Soo-young (Jeon Do-yeon), who was waiting to move into her dream new apartment, gets involved in an unexpected corruption scandal and accepts a substantial reward to take the fall for the crimes. Two years later, on the day of her release, Soo-young is greeted by a stranger named Yoon-sun, someone she has never met before. Sensing something is amiss, Soo-young sets out to find Andy, the man who promised her compensation. As she delves deeper, she uncovers a far more dangerous, powerful force behind the scheme. Revolver, also known as 리볼버 (or Ribolbeo) in Korean, is both written and directed by Korean writer / filmmaker Seung-uk Oh, director of the films Kilimanjaro and The Shameless previously. Produced by Han Jae-Deok and Sanai Pictures. The film just opened in Korea also earlier this month. Well Go USA will debut Revolver in select US theaters starting August 23rd, 2024 coming up. Look any good?
